Skunk Information


Skunks are best known for their ability to excrete a foul smelling odor. Skunks belong to the family Mephitidae and to the order Carnivora. They have black fur with white stripes, and a black bushy tail. There are many different species of skunks, that vary in size and coat patterns. Most skunk species live in Canada, the United States of America and Mexico. They can be found in a wide variety of habitats: woodlands, grasslands or meadows.
